Rebecca Bennett Receives 2009 Award of Merit
On Wednesday, June 17, 2009, Rebecca Bennett, Director of Chemical and Environmental Compliance at Precision Plating Company, was honored with the 2009 Award of Merit from the National Association of Surface Finishers (NASF) for her exemplary work within the organization. The award was distributed at the Annual NASF Conference, held in Louisville, Kentucky. NASF is a membership trade association whose mission is to promote the advancement of the North American surface finishing industry.
“Becky has devoted her time, energy, and talent to numerous industry organizations,” said Gary Belmonti, President of Precision Plating Company. “We are thrilled she has been recognized in this manner and honored to have her on our team.”
Serving as Co-Chair of the NASF Membership Committee since 2007, Becky participated with the Board of Directors for National Association of Metal Finishers (NAMF), representing the Chicago Metal Finishers Institute (CMFI) for the past four years. Her roles include Secretary/Treasurer as well as Chair of the CMFI Events Committee.

A 36-year veteran of Precision Plating Company, Becky is Director of Chemical and Environmental Compliance. She maintains the solution chemistries for the electroplating operations, monitors the effluent discharge of the waste water pretreatment system per the Categorical limits set by the USEPA and the Appendix B limits set by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC), and completes the required Environmental forms for the USEPA, IEPA, MWRDGC, and City of Chicago Department of Environment. Other responsibilities include conducting the Safety Training and Resource, Conservation, and Recovery Act (RCRA) training for all the employees of PPC, as well as serving as head of the First Aid Team and HazMat Team.
