Precision Plating Company Awarded ISO/TS 16949 Certification
Precision Plating is proud to announce that we have achieved ISO/TS 16949 certification from the highly respected UK-based BSI (British Standards Institution). This quality management system certification covers all Precision Plating manufacturing activities.
ISO/TS 16949 is currently the world’s most stringent quality management system standard for manufacturing and provides for strict adherence to the demanding requirements of the world-wide automotive industry. The ISO/TS 16949 standard is a technical specification defining quality system requirements for manufacturing operations. The standard encourages the use of a process approach that is aimed at improving process efficiency and is designed to achieve the highest levels of product quality, productivity, competitiveness, and continual improvement.
ISO/TS 16949 was jointly developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) and was approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
IATF members include BMW, Daimler Chrysler, Fiat, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Peugeot-Citroen, Renault, Volkswagen, the AIAG (U.S.), the ANFIA (Italy), the FIEV (France), the SMMT (U.K.) and the VDA (Germany). It is expected that the “big three” Japanese OEM’s will also adopt ISO/TS 16949 2002 as their quality management system standard.
ISO/TS 16949 is based on ISO 9001:2008 and encompasses all the requirement of ISO 9001:2008 while including a number of additional specific automotive quality requirements. All companies that achieve ISO/TS 16949 certification are also automatically awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification.
Achieving ISO/TS 16949 certification is further evidence of Precision’s commitment to continuously improving product quality and customer satisfaction. Achieving this certification is yet another important milestone in our on-going strategic goal of providing our customers with “impeccable service”.
